📖 Introduction (5 minutes)

• Today’s class is practice-oriented.

• Students will revise and consolidate all sentence types studied in Periods 1–7.

• Focus on recognition, classification, and correction of sentences.

Activity 1 – Identify Sentence Types (10 minutes)

• Teacher writes 20 sentences on the board; students classify them:

Example Sentences for Practice:

1. I like apples. (Affirmative / Simple)

2. Do you play football? (Interrogative / Simple)

3. Close the door. (Imperative / Simple)

4. Wow! That was amazing. (Exclamatory / Simple)

5. She didn’t come to school. (Negative / Simple)

6. I went to the market, and I bought fruits. (Compound / Affirmative)

7. Although it was raining, we went out. (Complex / Affirmative)

8. Did he finish his homework? (Interrogative / Simple)

9. Don’t touch the stove. (Imperative / Simple)

10. What a beautiful painting! (Exclamatory / Simple)

11. I am tired, but I will continue. (Compound / Affirmative)

12. She didn’t pass the test because she didn’t study. (Complex / Negative)

Instructions:

• Students write the type of sentence and identify if it is simple, compound, or complex.

• Discuss answers in class.

Activity 2 – Correction Drill (5–7 minutes)

• Teacher provides incorrect sentences, students correct them:

  1. She go to school. → She goes to school.

  2. Don’t you eats your lunch? → Don’t you eat your lunch?

  3. Although he tired, he worked. → Although he was tired, he worked.

  4. I likes ice cream. → I like ice cream.

  5. Go quickly the bus. → Go quickly to the bus.

Activity 3 – Speaking Practice (5 minutes)

• Students form 2 affirmative, 2 negative, 2 interrogative, 2 imperative, and 2 exclamatory sentences orally about their daily routine.

• Peer feedback and teacher correction.

2. Write 5 examples of each sentence type at home.
